CONFERENCE INFO:
paper guidelines

In its call for papers, ANZCIES invites paper submissions that have relevance to the conference theme. Proposals are considered in the form of refereed papers, non-refereed papers, panel presentations, and workshops. Please refer to 'Paper Guidelines' and 'Important Dates' to determine eligibility and timeline requirements.

Refereed papers

Once you submit your manuscript online and indicate that you would like for it to undergo a refereed, peer review process by the deadline indicated, your paper will undergo several review processes. First is a pre-screening process that considers relevance of theme, significance of submission, and overall quality. Refereed submissions which meet our pre-screening approval then undergo a peer-review, double-blind referee process in which they are evaluated with regard to their academic merit, originality of analysis, and innovative use of advanced research methods and measurement procedures. Please expect a time delay in receiving your feedback. Once you have received feedback and have made any necessary changes to your manuscript, the ANZCIES Program Committee will determine its final approval and inclusion into the conference programme.

Non-refereed papers

While non-refereed manuscripts are often approved up until the last few weeks before the conference as long as they fit within the conference theme, it is important to submit your proposal well in advance of deadlines set so as to ensure successful inclusion into the conference programme. Please refer to 'Important Dates' for deadlines for non-refereed abstracts and papers.

Submitted manuscripts related to the current conference theme are strongly encouraged. Those which are of exceptional quality may be selected for possible inclusion in our new journal, The International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives.

Guidelines

Manuscripts should be between 5000 and 6000 words. Additional space will be considered for appendices, data, maps, and other supplements.

Manuscripts are required to include:

  • cover page (including title, author's name, affiliation, contact details, and abstract)
  • full text (excluding title, author's name, affiliation, contact details, and abstract)
  • references in APA 5.0 style

Manuscripts will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Choice of problem
  • Questions to be addressed
  • Likely significance of findings
  • Critique of relevant literature
  • Concepts applied
  • Theoretical framework
  • Conceptualisation and analysis
  • Written expression

Submission Requirements

Please use our submission facility to submit all abstracts and manuscripts.
Attach your documents in MS Word (.docx) or (.doc).
If your manuscript consists of a large amount of graphs, tables, and/or figures, we may ask that you submit your document in (.rtf) or (.pdf) format.
You will be contacted if this information is required.

Efforts are made to ensure the timely completion of the review process.
